Mesa Verde National Park is one of the best preserved archeological site's providing a look into the Ancestral Pueblo people. From A.D. 600 for approximately 700 years these people lived among the cliffs in this region. There are more than 600 cliff dwellings and over 4,000 archeological sites including pit-houses, pueblos, and masonry towers in the park.
